Description

Crispy and cheesy fried wonton triangles filled with a delicious blend of cheeses, perfect for appetizers or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon chives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheese Filling:
    • In a bowl, combine mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, chopped chives, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix until well combined and smooth.
  2. Assemble the Wontons:
    • Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface.
    • Place about 1 tablespoon of cheese filling in the center of the wrapper.
    • Brush the edges of the wrapper with beaten egg.
    • Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to create a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly.
  3. Fry the Wontons:
    • In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
    • Carefully place the wonton triangles into the oil, a few at a time.
    • Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
    • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve:
    • Arrange the fried wonton triangles on a serving plate.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid soggy wontons.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if necessary.
  • Experiment with different cheese blends for a unique flavor.
  • Serve with dipping sauces like sweet chili or marinara for added taste.
