Description

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cook the Noodles: Boil the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent. Add ground beef, cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Stir well.
  4. Prepare the Cream Sauce: In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over low heat. Stir in ricotta cheese and half of the parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth.
  5. Assemble the Lasagna: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of cream sauce. Place a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of beef, a layer of cream sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with a layer of noodles and remaining cream sauce. Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake the Lasagna: Cover the dish with foil and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix some red pepper flakes into the meat sauce for a bit of heat.
  • Instead of ricotta, you can use cottage cheese for a lighter option.
  • Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before slicing to ensure it holds its shape.
