Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake the Cookies:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Assemble the Dessert:
- Once the cookies are completely cooled, place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on each cookie.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup or hot fudge.
- Sprinkle chocolate shavings over the top.
- Add a maraschino cherry on top of each ice cream scoop.
- Optionally, sprinkle with sea salt flakes for added flavor.
