Description

Delicious ginger-flavored macarons with a creamy buttercream frosting filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 3 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp unsulfured molasses
  • 1/2 cup buttercream frosting (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean bowl, whip egg whites until frothy. Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  3. Sift together almond flour, icing sugar, ginger, and cinnamon in another bowl.
  4. Gently fold dry ingredients into whipped egg whites until just combined.
  5. Pipe small circles onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until shells feel firm to the touch. Cool completely before filling with buttercream frosting.

Notes

  • Make sure all utensils are completely clean and free of grease for best results.
  • Let the macarons cool completely before attempting to remove them from the parchment paper.
