Description
Delicious chocolate chip cookie bars layered with sweetened condensed milk, chocolate, and Heath bars.
Ingredients
Scale
- 7 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 12 oz chocolate chips
- 14 fun size Heath bars (chopped)
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350º F. Line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
- If making cookie dough, cream together the butter and both sugars for about 2 minutes until it is light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla until everything is really well incorporated.
- Mix in the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt until the flour just disappears. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly combined.
- Press about 2/3rds of the dough (approximately 2 cups) into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Melt chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in the microwave together for 45 seconds. Stir until smooth and melted. Heat for an additional 15 seconds if needed.
- Spread melted chocolate over the cookie dough.
- Sprinkle crushed Heath bars over melted chocolate.
- Break small pieces of remaining dough, and sprinkle over the chocolate (approximately 1 1/2 cups). You will still see some chocolate peeking through, but it should mainly cover it.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes. The top should be set, and golden.
- Remove from oven, and let cool before serving.
Notes
- For best results, allow the bars to cool completely before cutting.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
