Description

This flavorful Grilled Rosemary Balsamic Steak is perfect for summer barbecues and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your preferred cut)
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: A few sprigs of rosemary for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a mixing bowl, combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, chopped rosemary, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Place the steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, for maximum flavor.
  2. Prepare the Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  3. Grill the Steak: Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness of the steak. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the desired doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C).
  4. Rest and Serve: Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Slice the steak against the grain for tenderness.

Notes

  • For Extra Flavor: Add a tablespoon of soy sauce to the marinade for additional umami.
  • Alternative Cooking Method: If you don’t have a grill, you can use a grill pan on the stove.
  • Garnish: Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs for a fragrant presentation.
  • Side Pairings: This steak pairs well with grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
