Description
Delicious and festive Grinch Rice Krispies Treats perfect for the holiday season!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup salted butter (browned)
- 20 oz mini marshmallows
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 10 cups Rice Krispies
- heart sprinkles
Instructions
- Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper and lightly mist with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, stir continuously. The butter will foam up twice; after the second time, it will begin to brown and give off a nutty aroma. Immediately remove from heat so it doesn’t burn.
- Stir in the vanilla extract. The mixture will bubble, continue stirring for about 30 seconds until it settles.
- Add half of the marshmallows and stir until almost melted. Add the remaining marshmallows and continue stirring until fully melted and smooth. Add food coloring to the butter/marshmallow mixture and stir until you reach your desired Grinch green color.
- Add the Rice Krispies, about 2 cups at a time, gently folding until evenly combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Lightly wet your hands and gently press the mixture to the edges, being careful not to pack it down.
- Let cool slightly, then cut into 15 squares. Press one Wilton heart sprinkle into the top of each square.
- Serve and enjoy!
