Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, cream softened butter until fluffy; gradually mix in the sugar mixture until light and airy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gently combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed; avoid overmixing.
- Fold in the cherries carefully and transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown; a toothpick should come out clean. Cool before slicing into squares.
