- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
- 1 cup maraschino cherries (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
- For a twist, try adding nuts or different types of chocolate chips.
