Description

Delicious pan-fried dumplings filled with vegetables, perfect for a quick meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1215 round dumpling wrappers
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup tofu, crumbled (optional for added protein)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup broccoli, cut into small florets
  • 1/2 cup carrots, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:

In a mixing bowl, combine cabbage, julienned carrots, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and crumbled tofu. Mix well.

  2. Fill the Dumplings:

Place a wrapper in your palm. Add about a teaspoon of filling in the center. Wet the edge of the wrapper with water, fold it over the filling to form a half-moon, and press the edges to seal. Pleat the edges if desired.

  3. Pan-Fry the Dumplings:

Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Arrange the dumplings in the pan and cook until the bottoms are golden brown. Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover with a lid to steam the dumplings for about 5 minutes.

  4. Prepare the Vegetables:

Quickly steam or blanch broccoli and sliced carrots until vibrant and slightly tender.

  5. Make the Sauce:

Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey in a small bowl until combined.

  6. Serve:

Arrange the dumplings on a serving plate with broccoli and carrots. Drizzle with sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the edges of the dumplings are tightly sealed to prevent leaks while frying.
  • Experiment with different vegetables in the filling like mushrooms, spinach, or bok choy for added flavor.
  • Adjust the seasoning of the filling to personal preference before filling the wrappers.
