Description
Delicious pan-fried dumplings filled with vegetables, perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients
- 12–15 round dumpling wrappers
- 1 cup cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup tofu, crumbled (optional for added protein)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup broccoli, cut into small florets
- 1/2 cup carrots, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine cabbage, julienned carrots, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and crumbled tofu. Mix well.
- Fill the Dumplings:
Place a wrapper in your palm. Add about a teaspoon of filling in the center. Wet the edge of the wrapper with water, fold it over the filling to form a half-moon, and press the edges to seal. Pleat the edges if desired.
- Pan-Fry the Dumplings:
Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Arrange the dumplings in the pan and cook until the bottoms are golden brown. Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover with a lid to steam the dumplings for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Vegetables:
Quickly steam or blanch broccoli and sliced carrots until vibrant and slightly tender.
- Make the Sauce:
Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey in a small bowl until combined.
- Serve:
Arrange the dumplings on a serving plate with broccoli and carrots. Drizzle with sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the edges of the dumplings are tightly sealed to prevent leaks while frying.
- Experiment with different vegetables in the filling like mushrooms, spinach, or bok choy for added flavor.
- Adjust the seasoning of the filling to personal preference before filling the wrappers.
